25 LC 129 0014 House Resolution 19 By: Representatives Gambill of the 15th and Scoggins of the 14th A RESOLUTION Congratulating the City of Cartersville upon its 175th anniversary; and for other purposes.1 WHEREAS, founded in 1850 and named for Georgia entrepreneur Col onel Farish Carter,2 Cartersville, Georgia, has grown from a small railroad town into a vibrant community with3 a rich history and bright future; and4 WHEREAS, located 45 miles northwest of Atlanta, Cartersville perfectly blends small town5 charm with the advantages of city access; and6 WHEREAS, know as the "Museum City," Cartersville boasts world-c lass institutions like7 the Booth Western Art Museum, the Tellus Science Museum, and th e Savoy Automobile8 Museum, showcasing art, science, and history; and9 WHEREAS, Cartersville hosts a robust industrial base and full-service city utilities, which 10 have long provided local jobs and economic stability, and the c ity's public utilities have11 served as a backbone for both businesses and residents; and12 H. R. 19 - 1 - 25 LC 129 0014 WHEREAS, the Cartersville City School System provides excellent education and13 opportunities for local students, playing an essential role in shaping the future of the14 community; and15 WHEREAS, Cartersville's beautiful parks and outdoor spaces, including Dellinger Park, Pine16 Mountain, the Appalachian foothills, and the Etowah River, prov ide residents and visitors17 with opportunities to enjoy the beauty of nature and outdoor recreation; and18 WHEREAS, the city's revitalized downtown area serves as the community's hub, featuring19 locally owned shops, restaurants, and regular events that bring people together; and20 WHEREAS, as Cartersville celebrates its 175th anniversary, we honor the city's rich past and21 look forward to a future filled with growth, unity, and pride. 22 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that23 the members of this body congratulate the City of Cartersville upon the grand occasion of24 its 175th anniversary and extend best wishes to each of its cit izens for future health,25 happiness, and prosperity.26 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized27 and directed to make appropriate copies of this resolution avai lable for distribution to the28 public and the press.29 H.
