25 LC 112 2654 Senate Resolution 13 By: Senators Mallow of the 2nd, Jones II of the 22nd and Jackson of the 41st A RESOLUTION Commending Richard Coleman; and for other purposes.1 WHEREAS, Richard Coleman has dedicated over 30 years to law enforcement as a Georgia2 peace officer, earning certification as a Georgia law enforcement executive administrator and3 serving in leadership roles such as chief of police, chief of internal affairs, assistant chief of4 police, and police operations commander; and5 WHEREAS, he has demonstrated extensive expertise in staffing, budgeting, policy creation,6 outsourcing, resource management, and community engagement throughout his distinguished7 career; and8 WHEREAS, Richard Coleman is an honest and dedicated public serv ant who strives for9 excellence in all of his endeavors and whose primary concern is the welfare and safety of the10 citizens of Chatham County; and11 WHEREAS, he is highly regarded by the citizens of his community and by state and local12 government officials as a man of unquestioned integrity and dedication to the administration13 of justice and sound principles of law enforcement; and14 S. R. 13 - 1 - 25 LC 112 2654 WHEREAS, this spirited law enforcement professional has exhibited extraordinary devotion15 to duty, outstanding loyalty, fine leadership, and meticulous a ttention to detail throughout16 his exemplary career; and17 WHEREAS, his inspiring commitment to the welfare of others stan ds as an outstanding18 example of the positive effect law enforcement professionals ha ve on the lives and19 well-being of others; and20 WHEREAS, it is abundantly fitting and proper that gratitude is expressed for the unique and21 often unheralded contributions of local law enforcement profess ionals on behalf of the22 citizens of this state.23 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE that the members of this body24 commend the care, courage, sympathy, and selfless dedication exhibited by Richard Coleman25 in carrying out the difficult duties of his vocation and express their utmost appreciation for26 having so purely and truly defined for others the meaning of public servant.27 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is authorized and directed28 to make an appropriate copy of this resolution available for distribution to Richard Coleman.29 S.
