25 LC 112 2694 Senate Resolution 24 By: Senators Rhett of the 33rd, James of the 28th, Esteves of t he 35th, Wicks of the 34th, Jones II of the 22nd and others A RESOLUTION Recognizing and commending Claude J. Page III; and for other purposes.1 WHEREAS, Claude J. Page III is a meritorious member of Omega Ps i Phi Fraternity,2 Incorporated, the first fraternity founded at a historically Black college (1911), and is active3 in the Chi Gamma Gamma Chapter, a prominent civic service organ ization serving North4 Fulton County and Cobb County; and5 WHEREAS, the Chi Gamma Gamma Chapter is a premiere civic and charitable volunteer6 organization that offers its time, talents, and treasures to up lift the quality of life in North7 Fulton County and Cobb County; and8 WHEREAS, Mr. Claude J. Page III has been designated as the 2024 OMEGA MAN OF THE9 YEAR by the Chi Gamma Gamma Chapter; and10 WHEREAS, Mr. Page, who joined the fraternity in 1983 at Winston Salem State University,11 has consistently demonstrated the true spirit of a humble servant at the local, state, district,12 and national levels of the fraternity; and13 S. R. 24 - 1 - 25 LC 112 2694 WHEREAS, since his retirement from the Norfolk Southern railroad company after over 3014 years as a Locomotive Engineer, Mr. Page has dedicated countless hours in the Chi Gamma15 Gamma 1911 League mentorship program with several Cobb County e lementary schools;16 and17 WHEREAS, he further volunteers with the Men of Tapp at the Tapp Middle School18 mentorship program, the Powder Springs Youth Foundation Summer Enrichment Camp, and19 the Omega STEM program; and20 WHEREAS, Mr. Page is an alumni of the Cobb County Sheriff Citizens Academy who has21 been honored by the Cobb County Senior Citi zens Council for his humanitarian22 contributions.23 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE that the members of this body24 recognize and commend Claude J. Page III for his excellent, eff icient, unselfish, and25 dedicated public service to the State of Georgia and extend bes t wishes for continued26 telecommunications excellence and community service endeavors as a member of Omega27 Psi Phi Fraternity, Incorporated.28 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is authorized and directed29 to make an appropriate copy of this resolution available for distribution to Claude J.
