SR30: SR30 Toombs County High School Soccer Team; congratulate

25 LC 129 0035 Senate Resolution 30 By: Senator Tillery of the 19th A RESOLUTION Congratulating the Toombs County High School soccer team for winning the 2023 GHSA1 Class AA State Soccer Championship; and for other purposes.2 WHEREAS, the Toombs County High School soccer team has established and maintained3 a proud tradition of excellence with equal emphases on character and academics; and4 WHEREAS, this superlative team has completed another triumphant season of soccer5 competition by posting an outstanding record of 20 wins and only 3 losses; and6 WHEREAS, excellent play, superior teamwork, and extraordinary resilience made this team7 a spectacular one to observe throughout the season, and as a fitting finale to its remarkable8 2023 campaign, the team captured its first ever state soccer championship; and9 WHEREAS, the team brought special recognition to its school and to Toombs County by10 winning the 2023 GHSA Class AA State Soccer Championship against the Blue Devils with11 a final score of 2-0; and12 S. R. 30 - 1 - 25 LC 129 0035 WHEREAS, the phenomenal performance of the team is a clear indication of the outstanding13 athletic ability, dedication, hard work, and unity of purpose and spirit of each member of the14 team; and 15 WHEREAS, as this magnificent team earned its well-deserved reputation for excellence by16 performing with courage and precision over months of training a nd competition, it is17 abundantly proper to call them champions.18 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE that the members of this body19 congratulate the Toombs County High School soccer team for winning the 2023 GHSA Class20 AA State Soccer Championship and extend best wishes for continued success.21 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is authorized and directed22 to make an appropriate copy of this resolution available for di stribution to the Toombs23 County High School soccer team.24 S.
