25 LC 129 0034 Senate Resolution 31 By: Senator Tillery of the 19th A RESOLUTION Congratulating the Toombs County High School football team for winning the 2024 GHSA1 Class A Division 1 State Football Championship; and for other purposes.2 WHEREAS, the Toombs County High School football team has established and maintained3 a proud tradition of excellence with equal emphases on character and academics; and4 WHEREAS, this superlative team has completed another triumphant season of football5 competition by posting an outstanding record of 13 wins and only one loss; and6 WHEREAS, excellent play, superior teamwork, and extraordinary resilience made this team7 a spectacular one to observe throughout the season, and as a fitting finale to its remarkable8 2024 campaign, the team captured its first ever state football championship; and9 WHEREAS, the team brought special recognition to its school and to Toombs County by10 winning the 2024 GHSA Class A Division 1 State Football Championship against Northeast11 High School with a final score of 38-18; and12 S. R. 31 - 1 - 25 LC 129 0034 WHEREAS, the phenomenal performance of the team is a clear indication of the outstanding13 athletic ability, dedication, hard work, and unity of purpose and spirit of each member of the14 team; and15 WHEREAS, this magnificent team performed with precision during the season and earned16 its well-deserved reputation for high standards of athletic achievement, the quality of its play,17 and the stiff competition it presented to its opponents.18 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE that the members of this body19 congratulate the Toombs County High School football team for wi nning the 2024 GHSA20 Class A Division 1 State Football Championship and extend best wishes for continued21 success.22 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is authorized and directed23 to make an appropriate copy of this resolution available for di stribution to the Toombs24 County High School football team.25 S.
