A RESOLUTION
Commending and congratulating Martha Haythorn; and for other purposes.1
WHEREAS, Martha Haythorn was born on January 27, 2000, and this year she enjoys the2
delightful distinction of celebrating her 25th birthday; and3
WHEREAS, Martha Haythorn developed her interest in politics through her weekly Zoom4
show "Mondays with Martha," during which she interviewed state legislators about politics5
and disability policy as part of her internship with the ARC of Georgia; and6
WHEREAS, she is a graduate of Georgia Tech's Excel Inclusive Post-Secondary Education7
program, which provides opportunities for students with intelle ctual and developmental8
disabilities to pursue higher education and personal growth; and9
WHEREAS, Martha Haythorn currently serves as a member of the Ge orgia Council on10
Developmental Disabilities, where she focuses on the Public Policy Committee; and11
WHEREAS, she further serves as the senate assistant ante room c lerk, a position made12
available by SB 384, "GAME: Georgia as Model Employer," which was carried by Senator13

Billy Hickman to promote inclusive employment opportunities for individuals with14
disabilities; and15
WHEREAS, this distinguished gentlewoman has given inspiration to many through her high16
ideals, morals, and deep concern for her fellow citizens; and17
WHEREAS, Martha Haythorn possesses the vast wisdom which only c omes through18
experience and the strength of character which is achieved thro ugh overcoming the many19
challenges of life; and20
WHEREAS, a kind and generous person, she brings joy and happiness to her family and to21
the many friends and neighbors who have the great pleasure of knowing her; and22
WHEREAS, by the example Martha Haythorn has made of her life, she makes this world a23
better place in which to live, and it is only fitting and prope r that she be appropriately24
recognized during this very special and memorable time.25
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE that the members of this body26
commend Martha Haythorn for her unselfish, dedicated, and loving service to the members27
of her family and state; congratulate her on the remarkable occasion of her 25th birthday; and28
extend their most sincere best wishes for continued health and happiness.29
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is authorized and directed30
to make an appropriate copy of this resolution available for distribution to Martha Haythorn.31
