A RESOLUTION
Commending the Georgia Association of Broadcasters and their radio and television station1
members; and for other purposes.2
WHEREAS, the Georgia Association of Broadcasters, the nation's first and oldest broadcast3
association, works diligently to represent the interests of radio and television licensees and4
is composed of hundreds of radio and television broadcasters; and5
WHEREAS, the Georgia Association of Broadcasters and its televi sion and radio station6
members have consistently demonstrated exceptional dedication t o their communities by7
providing timely and accurate local news, engaging content, and life-saving information; and8
WHEREAS, during times of crisis, such as Hurricane Helene, broa dcasters have played a9
crucial role in ensuring the safety and well-being of Georgia residents by delivering critical10
updates, emergency alerts, and essential information; and11
WHEREAS, the commitment of these broadcasters to public service and their unwavering12
efforts to keep the public informed have significantly contribu ted to the resilience and13
preparedness of communities across Georgia; and14

WHEREAS, the Georgia Association of Broadcasters and its member s have shown15
exemplary professionalism, integrity, and a deep sense of responsibility in their reporting and16
broadcasting, earning the trust and respect of their audiences; and17
WHEREAS, the Georgia State Senate recognizes the invaluable contributions of the Georgia18
Association of Broadcasters and its television and radio statio n members to the State of19
Georgia and its residents.20
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE that the members of this body21
commend the Georgia Association of Broadcasters and their telev ision and radio station22
members for their outstanding service, dedication, and commitme nt to their communities,23
especially during times of crisis like Hurricane Helene.24
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is authorized and directed25
to make an appropriate copy of this resolution available for di stribution to the Georgia26
Association of Broadcasters.27
