A RESOLUTION
Recognizing January 28, 2025, as Bryan Day at the state capitol; and for other purposes.1
WHEREAS, presented by the Bryan County Chamber of Commerce and the Development2
Authority of Bryan County, Bryan Day represents an opportunity to celebrate the rich history3
and remarkable contributions of Bryan County, Georgia; and4
WHEREAS, created on December 19, 1793, and named after American Revolutionary War5
partisan Jonathan Bryan, Bryan County is located less than 30 minutes from Savannah-Hilton6
Head International Airport and the Port of Savannah; and7
WHEREAS, Bryan County is unique in that one-third of the community is occupied by Fort8
Stewart, the largest army installation east of the Mississippi River and home of the 3rd9
Infantry Division; and10
WHEREAS, the City of Pembroke serves as the county seat and off ers residents a rural11
setting in the northern portion of the county, while the City o f Richmond Hill covers the12
southern end of the county and rests on the Georgia coast; and13

WHEREAS, Bryan County was named the fastest-growing county in Georgia following the14
last census, experiencing a population increase of 48 percent between 2010 and 2020; and15
WHEREAS, the county's rapid population growth is largely attributed to its top-performing16
public school system, which attracts and supports families seeking high-quality education for17
their children; and18
WHEREAS, the Bryan County Chamber of Commerce serves as a recog nized leader in19
promoting business, economic and community development, and public policies that balance20
economic prosperity with quality of life; and21
WHEREAS, with its thriving communities, rich history, and outst anding growth, Bryan22
County exemplifies the values of the State of Georgia.23
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE that the members of this body24
recognize January 28, 2025, as Bryan Day at the state capitol.25
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is authorized and directed26
to make appropriate copies of this resolution available for distribution to the public and the27
press.28
