25 LC 129 0074 House Resolution 82 By: Representatives McClain of the 109 th, Okoye of the 102 nd, Adeyina of the 110 th, and Mitchell of the 88th A RESOLUTION Recognizing April 2025 as Financial Literacy Month and commendi ng Dr. Jacqueline1 Mohair, Dr. Sonya Hamm, and the Hamm Associates Financial Group ; and for other2 purposes.3 WHEREAS, financial literacy is a fundamental skill that empower s individuals to make4 informed and effective decisions regarding their personal finan ces, contributing to their5 economic security and well-being; and6 WHEREAS, Financial Literacy Month, observed annually in April, seeks to raise awareness7 about the importance of financial education and to encourage in dividuals and families to8 establish and maintain sound financial habits; and9 WHEREAS, the key themes of Financial Literacy Month—budgeting, debt management,10 credit awareness, and financial planning—are essential for achieving financial stability and11 fostering long-term prosperity; and12 WHEREAS, the State of Georgia recognizes the outstanding contributions of Dr. Jacqueline13 Mohair of Trinity International University of Ambassadors, Dr. Sonya Hamm, and the14 Hamm Associates Financial Group, whose dedicated efforts have i nspired and equipped15 H. R. 82 - 1 - 25 LC 129 0074 individuals with the tools and knowledge to manage their finances effectively and embrace16 financial empowerment; and17 WHEREAS, through her leadership at Trinity International University of Ambassadors and18 various educational initiatives, Dr. Jacqueline Mohair has cham pioned the importance of19 financial literacy as a cornerstone of personal and professional success; and20 WHEREAS, Dr. Sonya Hamm and the Hamm Associates Financial Group have made21 significant strides in advancing financial education through ta ilored workshops, strategic22 planning services, and innovative programs designed to empower individuals, families, and23 businesses across Georgia; and24 WHEREAS, their collective work has not only elevated the financ ial awareness of25 individuals but also strengthened communities by promoting sustainable financial habits and26 practices; and27 WHEREAS, financial literacy is a critical factor in reducing fi nancial stress, fostering28 economic opportunity, and supporting the development of financially resilient communities29 across Georgia and beyond.30 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that31 the members of this body recognize April 2025 as Financial Literacy Month in the State of32 Georgia and encourage all residents to participate in financial literacy programs, workshops,33 and events to enhance their financial knowledge and skills.34 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the members of this body commend Dr . Jacqueline35 Mohair, Dr. Sonya Hamm, and the Hamm Associates Financial Group for their exceptional36 H.
