25 LC 129 0072 House Resolution 84 By: Representatives McClain of the 109 th, Okoye of the 102 nd, Adeyina of the 110 th, and Mitchell of the 88th A RESOLUTION Recognizing October 17, 2025, as International Day for the Erad ication of Poverty in the1 State of Georgia; and for other purposes.2 WHEREAS, October 17 has been established by the United Nations as the International Day3 for the Eradication of Poverty to emphasize the need to address and combat poverty4 worldwide through innovative approaches; and5 WHEREAS, this day serves as a call to action to address poverty through financial inclusion,6 access to financial resources, and the promotion of economic empowerment, micro-finance,7 and building financial resilience in vulnerable communities; and8 WHEREAS, the State of Georgia recognizes the critical importanc e of educating and9 empowering the next generation with innovative and out-of-the-b ox financial thinking to10 break cycles of poverty and create sustainable change; and11 WHEREAS, Dr. Jacqueline Mohair, founder of Trinity Internationa l University of12 Ambassadors School of Business (TIUA), and Dr. Sonya Hamm, renowned as "The Wealth13 Coach" with a Doctor of Philosophy in Kingdom Finance and Ministry Stewardship, have14 H. R. 84 - 1 - 25 LC 129 0072 exemplified leadership and vision in addressing poverty through education and financial15 empowerment; and16 WHEREAS, the PhD program in Kingdom Finance and Ministry Stewar dship at TIUA17 equips leaders with biblical and financial stewardship principl es, emphasizing18 Kingdom-focused leadership, ministry strategies, and practical financial education to19 empower communities worldwide; and20 WHEREAS, this program prepares students for impactful careers i n ministry finance21 management, church administration, Kingdom stewardship educatio n, and biblical22 economics consultation, integrating theological principles with financial excellence; and23 WHEREAS, the State of Georgia acknowledges the vital role of faith-based organizations,24 innovative educational programs, and visionary leaders in eradicating poverty and fostering25 economic empowerment across communities.26 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that27 the members of this body recognize October 17, 2025, as Interna tional Day for the28 Eradication of Poverty in the State of Georgia and honor the work of Dr. Jacqueline Mohair,29 Dr. Sonya Hamm, and the Trinity International University of Amb assadors School of30 Business for their commitment to education, financial empowerme nt, and transformative31 leadership.32 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the members of this body encourage all citizens,33 organizations, and institutions to observe this day through act s of service, education, and34 community engagement, thereby fostering greater awareness and c ollective action toward35 poverty eradication.36 H.
