HR93: HR93 Citizens Christian Academy girls softball team; winning the 2024 GIAA Class A State Softball Championship; commend

25 LC 112 2717 House Resolution 93 By: Representative O’Steen of the 169th A RESOLUTION Congratulating the Citizens Christian Academy girls softball te am for winning the 20241 GIAA Class A State Softball Championship; and for other purposes.2 WHEREAS, the Citizens Christian Academy girls softball team has established and3 maintained a proud tradition of excellence with equal emphases on character and academics;4 and5 WHEREAS, this superlative team completed another triumphant sea son of softball6 competition by posting an outstanding record of 21 wins and only 5 losses; and7 WHEREAS, excellent play, superior teamwork, and extraordinary resilience made this team8 a spectacular one to observe throughout the season, and as a fitting finale to its remarkable9 2024 campaign, the team claimed victory at the 2024 GIAA Class A State Softball10 Championship; and11 WHEREAS, junior Gracie Giddens, named the 2024 Class A Player o f the Year, earned12 Class A All-State and District 6 All-Region honors and achieved an exemplary .530 batting13 average; and14 H. R. 93 - 1 - 25 LC 112 2717 WHEREAS, freshmen Emma Gourley and Emma Lowery, both earning Class A All-State15 and District 6 All-Region honors, finished the season with exceptional batting averages of16 .539 and .541 respectively; and17 WHEREAS, sophomore Brilynn Waldron and junior Abrah Harris earned Class A All-State18 honors, while junior Cadence Cravey was recognized as a Distric t 6 All-Region player,19 bringing the total to five All-State players and four All-Region players on the team; and20 WHEREAS, the phenomenal performance of the team is a clear indication of the outstanding21 athletic ability, dedication, hard work, and unity of purpose and spirit of each member of the22 team; its superb offensive and defensive talents; and the astut e direction of Head Coach23 Jeremy Coram, the GADA State Athletic Director of the Year for GIAA Class A; and24 WHEREAS, as this magnificent team earned its well-deserved reputation for excellence by25 performing with courage and precision over months of training a nd competition, it is26 abundantly proper to call them champions.27 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that28 the members of this body congratulate the Citizens Christian Academy girls softball team for29 winning the 2024 GIAA Class A State Softball Championship and e xtend best wishes for30 their continued success.31 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized32 and directed to make an appropriate copy of this resolution available for distribution to the33 Citizens Christian Academy girls softball team.34 H.
