25 LC 112 2792 House Resolution 102 By: Representatives Cox of the 28th, Jasperse of the 11th, McDonald III of the 26th, Barrett of the 24th, Jones of the 25th, and others A RESOLUTION Recognizing and congratulating Sheriff Ron Freeman; and for other purposes.1 WHEREAS, Sheriff Ron Freeman has served with honor and distinction as the sheriff of the2 Forsyth County Sheriff's Office since his election in 2016, and he has recently been named3 Sheriff of the Year by the Georgia Sheriff's Association; and4 WHEREAS, in addition to his role as sheriff, he is the currentl y serving as second vice5 president of the Georgia Sheriff's Association and as an appointed board member and past6 chair of the Georgia Criminal Justice Coordinating Council; and7 WHEREAS, his exemplary career upholds his family's longstanding history in law8 enforcement, a legacy that spans more than 130 years of combined service across him, his9 father, and his uncles; and10 WHEREAS, Sheriff Freeman's efficient and effective commitment to excellence has been11 recognized by his peers through the many decorations and awards he has received, including12 a Medal of Valor, a Medal of Merit, and the Sheriff's Commendation Award; and13 H. R. 102 - 1 - 25 LC 112 2792 WHEREAS, his inspiring commitment to the welfare of others is an outstanding example of14 the positive effect law enforcement professionals have on the lives and well-being of others;15 and16 WHEREAS, it is abundantly fitting and proper that gratitude is expressed for the unique and17 often unheralded contributions of local law enforcement profess ionals on behalf of the18 citizens of this state.19 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that20 the members of this body recognize and congratulate Sheriff Ron Freeman upon being21 named Sheriff of the Year by the Georgia Sheriff's Association and express their upmost22 appreciation for his years of dedicated service.23 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized24 and directed to make an appropriate copy of this resolution ava ilable for distribution to25 Sheriff Ron Freeman.26 H.
