25 LC 129 0076 Senate Resolution 62 By: Senators Kirkpatrick of the 32nd, Albers of the 56th, Williams of the 25th, Hufstetler of the 52nd, Moore of the 53rd and others A RESOLUTION Recognizing and commending Reinhardt University for serving the students of North1 Georgia for over 140 years; and for other purposes.2 WHEREAS, Reinhardt University was founded in 1883 and has provi ded 142 years of3 educational service in Georgia; and4 WHEREAS, the University is a top producer of public school teac hers and leaders in5 Cherokee County; and6 WHEREAS, the University boasts graduating top performing studen ts in the nursing7 profession, with a 93 percent NCLEX pass rate compared to the n ational average of 768 percent; and9 WHEREAS, the University has made significant contributions to law enforcement leadership10 through offering a high quality online criminal justice degree since 2013, an MPA in law11 enforcement leadership, and is the only private college in Georgia to offer a Mandate Police12 Academy for working adults; and13 S. R. 62 - 1 - 25 LC 129 0076 WHEREAS, the University has made significant contributions to the workforce in Georgia14 in the areas of arts, sciences, business, and cybersecurity; and15 WHEREAS, the University has contributed greatly to the cultural life of Northwest Georgia16 by bringing professional performances to the Falany Performing Arts Center and Flint Hall;17 and18 WHEREAS, the University has demonstrated a commitment to keepin g the history of19 Georgia settlers and native Cherokee communities alive through the Funk Heritage Museum20 and Bennett History Center.21 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE that the members of this body22 commend Reinhardt University as well as its administration, faculty, staff, and trustees for23 the important contributions they have made to the State of Geor gia as well as extend best24 wishes for continued success.25 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is authorized and directed26 to make an appropriate copy of this resolution available for di stribution to Reinhardt27 University.28 S.
