A RESOLUTION
Recognizing and commending Trail Life USA; and for other purposes.1
WHEREAS, Trail Life USA partners with churches to provide a Chr ist centered outdoor2
adventure with an emphasis on character development and leadership to boys and young men3
in 49 states and connects boys with friends, dads, and godly me ntors in a safe,4
unapologetically Christian environment; and5
WHEREAS, the organization's mission is to guide generations of courageous young men to6
honor God, lead with integrity, serve others, and experience outdoor adventure; and7
WHEREAS, its motto is to walk worthy and is inspired by Colossians 1:10; its oath states,8
"on my honor, I will do my best to serve God and my country; to respect authority; to be a9
good steward of creation; and to treat others as I want to be treated"; and10
WHEREAS, Trail Life USA's robust awards program culminates with the esteemed Freedom11
Award, which is already gaining recognition with Christian coll eges and universities as a12
symbol of high character, leadership experience, and skills; and13

WHEREAS, there are more than 35,869 trailmen and 1,133 troops i n the United States,14
including 2,271 trailmen and 57 troops in Georgia; and15
WHEREAS, Trail Life USA actively pursues a praiseworthy mission f o r s p i r i t u a l a n d16
character development of youth through Christ centered programm ing, and in doing so is17
laying the foundation for the success of future generations; and18
WHEREAS, it is abundantly fitting and proper that the outstandi ng achievements of this19
extraordinary organization be appropriately recognized.20
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that21
the members of this body recognize and commend Trail Life USA for its tireless efforts in22
shaping the youth of Georgia and the United States and wish them continued success.23
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized24
and directed to make appropriate copies of this resolution available for distribution to Trail25
Life USA.26
