25 LC 129 0052 House Resolution 105 By: Representatives Williamson of the 112th, Martinez of the 111th, and Fleming of the 114th A RESOLUTION Recognizing and commending Captain Coleman A. Landers; and for other purposes.1 WHEREAS, Captain Coleman A. Landers has diligently and conscien tiously devoted2 innumerable hours of his time, talents, and energy toward the betterment of his community3 and state, as evidenced dramatically by his 20 years of superla tive service as part of the4 Walton County Board of Education; and5 WHEREAS, he has additionally contributed to the Georgia School Boards Association by6 serving on the Awards Committee and the Governmental Operations Committee as well as7 its president; and8 WHEREAS, Captain Coleman A. Landers served 30 years as a guardi an of this nation's9 freedom and liberty with the United States Navy, valiantly and courageously protecting his10 fellow Americans; and11 WHEREAS, he has further played a vital role in his community as a founding director of the12 Walton County Boys and Girls Club, a member of the Walton Count y Economic13 Development Authority and the Rotary Club of Monroe, the board chair and director of the14 H. R. 105 - 1 - 25 LC 129 0052 Walton County Chamber of Commerce, and the board chair of Piedmont Walton Hospital;15 and16 WHEREAS, in recognition of his exemplary service to the citizen s of Walton County,17 Georgia, the Walton County Chamber of Commerce has granted Capt ain Coleman A.18 Landers the prestigious J.L. McGarity Citizenship Award; and19 WHEREAS, this distinguished gentleman has given inspiration to many through his high20 ideals, morals, and deep concern for his fellow citizens, and he possesses the vast wisdom21 which only comes through experience and the strength of charact er which is achieved22 through overcoming the many challenges of life; and23 WHEREAS, he is a person of magnanimous strengths with an unimpeachable reputation for24 integrity, intelligence, fairness, and kindness; and25 WHEREAS, it is abundantly fitting and proper that the outstandi ng contributions of this26 extraordinary individual are appropriately honored.27 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that28 the members of this body recognize and commend Captain Coleman A. Landers for his29 decades of effective, efficient, and dedicated service as well as extend the most sincere best30 wishes for continued health and happiness.31 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized32 and directed to make an appropriate copy of this resolution ava ilable for distribution to33 Captain Coleman A.
