A RESOLUTION
Commending Braselton Police Chief Terry Esco; and for other purposes.1
WHEREAS, Braselton Police Chief Terry Esco retires in March after 35 years of dedicated2
service to the town and its community; and3
WHEREAS, Chief Esco was hired by former Mayor Henry E. Braselton in February 19904
after earning his P.O.S.T. certification the year before, and he was promoted to Chief in May5
1991; and6
WHEREAS, as the town expanded into four counties, Chief Esco gr ew the department's7
personnel to 23 officers; and8
WHEREAS, alongside the department's methodical growth in personnel, Chief Esco oversaw9
advancements in technology, training, equipment, vehicle upgrad es, and certifications to10
meet modern law enforcement needs; and11
WHEREAS, Chief Esco has served with distinction in additional r oles such as a GACP12
All-Hazard Council Representative and President of the Gwinnett Police Chiefs Association;13

WHEREAS, in his role as Public Safety Director for the Town of Braselton, Chief Esco has15
ensured a safe and tranquil environment for its residents and visitors.16
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE that the members of this body17
commend the care, courage, sympathy, and selfless dedication exhibited by Braselton Police18
Chief Terry Esco in carrying out the difficult duties of his vocation and express their utmost19
appreciation for having so purely and truly defined for others the meaning of public servant.20
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is authorized and directed21
to make an appropriate copy of this resolution available for distribution to Braselton Police22
Chief Terry Esco.23
