25 LC 112 2801 Senate Resolution 75 By: Senators Anderson of the 24th, Burns of the 23rd, Hickman o f the 4th, Jones II of the 22nd, Williams of the 25th and others A RESOLUTION Congratulating the Harlem High School Bulldogs baseball team for winning the 2024 GHSA1 Class AAA State Baseball Championship; and for other purposes.2 WHEREAS, the Harlem High School Bulldogs baseball team has established and maintained3 a proud tradition of excellence with equal emphases on character and academics; and4 WHEREAS, this superlative team completed its triumphant season of baseball competition5 by posting an outstanding record of 38 wins and only one loss; and6 WHEREAS, the team brought special recognition to its school and to Columbia County by7 winning the 2024 GHSA Class AAA State Baseball Championship; and8 WHEREAS, as further testament to their exemplary performance, the Harlem High School9 Bulldogs baseball team earned a No. 1 ranking across all classi fications in the State of10 Georgia as well as a No. 9 ranking in the nation; and11 WHEREAS, this championship victory marks the seventh state cham pionship under the12 guidance of Head Coach Jimmie Lewis, who now has more than 900 career wins; and13 S. R. 75 - 1 - 25 LC 112 2801 WHEREAS, the phenomenal performance of the team is a clear indication of the outstanding14 athletic ability, dedication, hard work, and unity of purpose and spirit of each member of the15 team; its superb offensive and defensive talents; and the astut e direction of Head Coach16 Jimmie Lewis as well as Assistant Coaches Chris Waters, Rusty James, Hunter McBride, and17 Lonnie Morris; and18 WHEREAS, as this magnificent team earned its well-deserved reputation for excellence by19 performing with courage and precision over months of training a nd competition, it is20 abundantly proper to call them champions.21 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE that the members of this body22 congratulate the Harlem High School Bulldogs baseball team for winning the 2024 GHSA23 Class AAA State Baseball Championship and extend best wishes for their continued success.24 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is authorized and directed25 to make an appropriate copy of this resolution available for distribution to the Harlem High26 School Bulldogs baseball team.27 S.
