25 LC 112 2855 House Resolution 141 By: Representatives Gambill of the 15th, Blackmon of the 146th, Gullett of the 19th, Hagan of the 156th, Dubnik of the 29th, and others A RESOLUTION Recognizing the week of February 3-7, 2025, as National School Counseling Week; and for1 other purposes.2 WHEREAS, National School Counseling Week focuses on increasing public attention on the3 unique contributions school counselors make by helping students achieve success in school4 and plan for the future; and 5 WHEREAS, this week highlights the enormous impact that school c ounselors make in6 helping students reach their goals; and7 WHEREAS, school counselors are employed in public and private schools to help students8 reach their full potential and are actively committed to helpin g students explore their9 interests, abilities, strengths, and talents relating to development and career awareness; and10 WHEREAS, school counselors help parents focus on ways to furthe r the educational,11 personal, and social growth of their children and work with teachers and other educators to12 help students explore their potential and set realistic goals for themselves; and13 H. R. 141 - 1 - 25 LC 112 2855 WHEREAS, school counselors seek to identify and utilize communi ty resources that can14 enhance and complement comprehensive school counseling programs to help students15 become productive members of society; and16 WHEREAS, comprehensive school counseling programs are considered an integral part of17 the educational process, which enables all students to achieve success in school.18 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that19 the members of this body recognize the week of February 3-7, 20 25, as National School20 Counseling Week.21 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized22 and directed to make an appropriate copy of this resolution available for distribution to the23 Georgia School Counselor Association.24 H.
