25 LC 112 2763 Senate Resolution 91 By: Senators Burns of the 23rd, Hickman of the 4th, Williams of the 25th, Jones II of the 22nd, Harrell of the 40th and others A RESOLUTION Congratulating and commending Mr. Nicholas Rucker; and for other purposes.1 WHEREAS, Mr. Nicholas Rucker is the state recipient of the Technical College System of2 Georgia's (TCSG) 2024 Georgia Occupational Award of Leadership (GOAL), which is the3 first program of its type in the nation to honor outstanding technical college students; and4 WHEREAS, GOAL brings together Georgia's business, government, a nd industry leaders5 with the state's technical colleges to celebrate technical education's vital impact on Georgia's6 workforce, prosperity, and future; and7 WHEREAS, for 52 years, the GOAL program has served as an excellent example of a true8 partnership among business, industry, and higher education; and9 WHEREAS, Mr. Rucker was selected from among 22 TCSG college GOAL winners who10 have demonstrated excellent academic and leadership abilities at their respective technical11 colleges; and12 S. R. 91 - 1 - 25 LC 112 2763 WHEREAS, Mr. Rucker, a physical therapist assistant student fro m Athens Technical13 College, enrolled to receive the very best training necessary t o acquire the knowledge and14 skills that will afford him a secure future in his chosen profession; and15 WHEREAS, Mr. Rucker will serve as an ambassador for technical e ducation in Georgia,16 representing more tha n 148,000 TCSG st udents who benefit from t echnical education17 programs at colleges throughout the state; and18 WHEREAS, in pursuing his education, Mr. Rucker brought honor to himself, his family,19 Athens Technical College, and the entire Technical College Syst em of Georgia, which he20 represents as Georgia's outstanding technical college student for 2024.21 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE that the members of this body22 congratulate and commend Mr. Nicholas Rucker for his outstanding achievements and efforts23 to promote technical education in Georgia as well as extend bes t wishes for continued24 success.25 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is authorized and directed26 to make an appropriate copy of this resolution available for di stribution to Mr. Nicholas27 Rucker.28 S.
