SR94: SR94 Ferber, David Escott "Scotty"; commend

25 LC 112 2713 Senate Resolution 94 By: Senators Still of the 48th, Dolezal of the 27th, Bearden of the 30th, Albers of the 56th, Payne of the 54th and others A RESOLUTION Commending and congratulating David Escott "Scotty" Ferber; and for other purposes.1 WHEREAS, David Escott "Scotty" Ferber has attained the rank of Eagle Scout, the most2 distinguished rank conferred by the Boy Scouts of America; and3 WHEREAS, a candidate for the most exceptional award in scouting must complete a4 rigorous program of training and demonstrate his proficiency in selected scouting techniques5 and the attainment of the highest ideals of scouting; and6 WHEREAS, only one scout out of 97 ever reaches this lofty level of achievement, and Scotty7 has ably evidenced his aptitude and competency in mastering the various special skills taught8 through the Scouts BSA program; and9 WHEREAS, this hard-working young man has demonstrated great lea dership skills and10 initiative and has truly exhibited a commitment to the scouting principles of honesty and11 fairness during his years with the Scouts BSA program; and12 WHEREAS, a member of Troop 3740, Scotty designed, cut, stained, sealed, assembled, and13 installed lockers to house 288 musical instruments for North Forsyth Middle School's band,14 S. R. 94 - 1 - 25 LC 112 2713 completing a project that involved over 1,300 man-hours, including 346 of his own, and the15 participation of 66 volunteers; and16 WHEREAS, Scotty further received a Presidential Gold Service Aw ard for his hours of17 community service through the project, and as additional testam ent to his dedication to18 scouting excellence, he has earned induction into the Order of the Arrow; and19 WHEREAS, the perseverance and determination displayed by this exceptional young leader20 set an example for all Georgians, and great success is surely in this young man's future.21 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE that the members of this body22 commend David Escott "Scotty" Ferber for his diligence and dedi cation in pursuing the23 highest honor awarded by the Boy Scouts of America and congratulate him on attaining the24 prestigious rank of Eagle Scout.25 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is authorized and directed26 to make an appropriate copy of this resolution available for di stribution to David Escott27 "Scotty" Ferber.28 S.
