A RESOLUTION
Recognizing and commending Robert Wayne Mock Sr.; and for other purposes.1
WHEREAS, Robert Wayne Mock Sr., a distinguished jurist and devoted public servant, has2
dedicated over four decades o f his life to upholding the law and ensuring justice within3
Gwinnett County, Georgia; and4
WHEREAS, after graduating from the Woodrow Wilson College of La w in 1976, Robert5
Wayne Mock Sr. embarked on an esteemed career in the legal profession, initially serving6
the community through private practice; and7
WHEREAS, in 1980, he began his unparalleled service to the Gwin nett County Judicial8
System, initially serving as the Recorder's Court Solicitor, a position he held with distinction9
for seven years, and making history as the first-ever solicitor appointed for Gwinnett County10
Recorder's Court; and11
WHEREAS, his exemplary service and commitment to justice led to his appointment as the12
Recorder's Court Judge in 1987 by the Superior Court, a testame nt to his integrity and13
judicial acumen; and14

WHEREAS, recognizing his outstanding contributions and leadership, Governor Zell Miller15
appointed him as a State Court Judge in 1991, a role in which he served the community with16
honor and distinction for over two decades; and17
WHEREAS, in 2004, he assumed the role of State Court Chief Judge, delivering exceptional18
leadership to the judicial process until his retirement in December 2012; and19
WHEREAS, even after his retirement and for the next 12 years, h e continued to serve the20
Gwinnett County Judicial System as a Senior Judge, sharing his wisdom and experience to21
guide the future of the justice system in the county; and22
WHEREAS, throughout his 45 years of service, Robert Wayne Mock Sr. has been a beacon23
of justice, honor, and dedication, influencing countless lives and shaping the judicial24
landscape of Gwinnett County; and25
WHEREAS, beyond his professional achievements, he is a devoted father of two and a26
loving grandfather of four, embodying the principles of family, community, and service in27
all aspects of his life.28
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE that the members of this body 29
recognize and commend Robert Wayne Mock Sr. for his remarkable career and contributions30
to Gwinnett County and the field of law.31
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is authorized and directed32
to make an appropriate copy of this resolution available for di stribution to Robert Wayne33
Mock Sr.34
