25 LC 129 0005 Senate Resolution 93 By: Senators Still of the 48th, Albers of the 56th, Bearden of the 30th, Payne of the 54th, Brass of the 6th and others A RESOLUTION Congratulating John Coen upon his induction to the Roswell High School Hall of Fame as1 well as the Georgia Dugout Baseball Hall of Fame; and for other purposes.2 WHEREAS, John Coen has long been recognized by his friends, colleagues, and athletes as3 an outstanding leader and an integral part of Roswell High School's athletic success; and 4 WHEREAS, he has shown great dedication to Roswell High School b y devoting over six5 decades of his life to the institution that first shaped him as a student-athlete, and his passion6 and commitment have left an enduring impact on the athletic programs; and 7 WHEREAS, during his remarkable tenure, he has successfully coac hed and assisted with8 several of the school's teams as well as led them to numerous championships, including the9 football, wrestling, and baseball teams; and10 WHEREAS, throughout his time as baseball coach, John Coen won more than 265 games,11 led the team to a state championship win in 1986, and impacted the lives of countless12 athletes, several of whom went on to play professionally; and13 S. R. 93 - 1 - 25 LC 129 0005 WHEREAS, beyond his contributions to athletics, he has further served as an exceptional14 administrator as well as an exemplary history and political sci ence teacher, and his15 sponsorship of the school's model United Nations program guided them to national16 championships; and 17 WHEREAS, his unique coaching style and sense of humor have fostered an environment that18 cultivates student and athletic growth, and he has left a long-lasting impact on the community19 through his dedicated service.20 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE that the members of this body21 congratulate John Coen upon his induction to the Roswell High School Hall of Fame and the22 Georgia Dugout Baseball Hall of Fam e as well as extend sincere best wishes for future23 health, happiness, and success.24 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is authorized and directed25 to make an appropriate copy of this resolution available for distribution to John Coen.26 S.
