25 LC 39 4556 House Bill 259 By: Representatives Sharper of the 177th, Powell of the 33rd, Lumsden of the 12th, Mitchell of the 88th, Stinson of the 150th, and others A BILL TO BE ENTITLED AN ACT To amend Title 1 of the Official Code of Georgia Annotated, relating to general provisions,1 so as to designate the second Monday of each August as Local El ected Officials Day in2 Georgia; to provide for related matters; to repeal conflicting laws; and for other purposes.3 BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF GEORGIA:4 SECTION 1.5 Title 1 of the Official Code of Georgia Annotated, relating to general provisions, is amended6 in Chapter 4, relating to holidays and observances, by adding a new Code section to read as7 follows:8 "1-4-27.9 The second Monday in August of each year is designated as 'Local Elected Officials Day'10 in Georgia."11 SECTION 2.12 All laws and parts of laws in conflict with this Act are repealed.13 H.
