25 LC 129 0090 Senate Resolution 118 By: Senator Goodman of the 8th A RESOLUTION Recognizing and commending Leadership Lowndes and Leadership Lowndes Youth for their1 contributions towards community involvement and awareness, deve loping leaders, and2 showing passion for action for over 35 years; and for other purposes.3 WHEREAS, Leadership Lowndes was established in 1988 with a vison for the growth and4 development of Lowndes County, Georgia; and5 WHEREAS, the mission of Leadership Lowndes is to build a better Lowndes County by6 exposing existing and emerging leaders to local challenges and opportunities, building7 networks that seek to address long-term solutions to community needs, and preparing8 members for a more active role in community leadership; and9 WHEREAS, this exceptional program has graduated nearly 900 lead ers who have10 collectively contributed over 10,000 service hours to local agencies and organizations; and11 WHEREAS, Leadership Lowndes provides participants with enrichin g educational12 experiences, including a two day retreat, a trip to the state capitol, and monthly program days13 featuring speakers and discussions on present-day issues; and14 S. R. 118 - 1 - 25 LC 129 0090 WHEREAS, the Leadership Lowndes Youth Initiative provides high school students with15 valuable opportunities to develop leadership skills, address te en issues, and engage in16 community service; and17 WHEREAS, it is abundan tly fitting and proper that the outstandi ng contributions of this18 extraordinary organization be appropriately honored.19 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE that the members of this body20 recognize and commend Leadership Lowndes and Leadership Lowdes Youth for their21 dedication to fostering community engagement, developing leaders, and driving meaningful22 change.23 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is authorized and directed24 to make an appropriate copy of this resolution available for di stribution to Leadership25 Lowndes.26 S.
