A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
AN ACT
To amend Chapter 1A of Title 20 of the Official Code of Georgia Annotated, relating to early1
care and learning, so as to revise the requirements of child care learning centers and family2
child care learning homes; to require that such centers and hom es maintain commercial3
general liability insurance; to provide for related matters; to provide for an effective date; to4
repeal conflicting laws; and for other purposes.5
BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF GEORGIA:6
SECTION 1.7
Chapter 1A of Title 20 of the Official Code of Georgia Annotated, relating to early care and8
learning, is amended in Code Section 20-1A-10, relating to regu lation of early care and9
education programs, by adding a new subsection to read as follows:10
"(g.1) Child care learning centers and family child care learni ng homes shall maintain a11
commercial general liability insurance policy or policies affor ding coverage for bodily12
injury and property damage in an amount not less than $500,000.00 for a single occurrence13
and $1 million in the aggregate."14

SECTION 2.15
This Act shall become effective upon its approval by the Governor or upon its becoming law16
without such approval.17
SECTION 3.18
All laws and parts of laws in conflict with this Act are repealed.19
