25 LC 129 0079 House Resolution 163 By: Representatives Gaines of the 120th, Wiedower of the 121st, and Frye of the 122nd A RESOLUTION Congratulating the North Oconee High School football team for w inning the 2024 GHSA1 Class 4A State Football Championship; and for other purposes.2 WHEREAS, the North Oconee High School football team has establi shed and maintained3 a proud tradition of excellence with equal emphases on character and academics; and4 WHEREAS, this superlative team has completed another triumphant season of football5 competition by posting an undefeated record of 15 wins; and6 WHEREAS, excellent play, superior teamwork, and extraordinary resilience made this team7 a spectacular one to observe throughout the season, and as a fitting finale to its remarkable8 2024 campaign, the team captured the first state championship in program history; and9 WHEREAS, the team brought special recognition to its school and to Oconee County by10 winning the 2024 GHSA Class 4A State Football Championship against Marist with a final11 score of 14-7; and12 WHEREAS, the phenomenal performance of the team is a clear indication of the outstanding13 athletic ability, dedication, hard work, and unity of purpose and spirit of each member of the14 H. R. 163 - 1 - 25 LC 129 0079 team; its superb offensive and defensive talents; and the astute direction of Head Coach Tyler15 Aurandt; and16 WHEREAS, as this magnificent team earned its well-deserved reputation for excellence by17 performing with courage and precision over months of training a nd competition, it is18 abundantly proper to call them champions.19 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that20 the members of this body congratulate the North Oconee High Sch ool football team for21 winning the 2024 GHSA Class 4A State Football Championship and extend best wishes for22 their continued success.23 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized24 and directed to make an appropriate copy of this resolution available for distribution to the25 North Oconee High School football team.26 H.
