25 LC 112 2728 Senate Resolution 117 By: Senators Goodman of the 8th, Anderson of the 24th, Jackson of the 41st, Burns of the 23rd, Setzler of the 37th and others A RESOLUTION Recognizing February 11, 2025, as Georgia Farm Bureau Federation Day at the state capitol;1 and for other purposes.2 WHEREAS, the Georgia Farm Bureau Federation was formed in 1937 as a voice for3 production agriculture in legislative affairs; and4 WHEREAS, from its humble beginnings in northwest Georgia, the G eorgia Farm Bureau5 Federation has grown to 158 county chapters with a current memb ership of more than6 235,000 led by volunteer farmer members; and7 WHEREAS, this outstanding federation of Georgia farmers has bec ome a diversified8 organization that focuses on service to its members and the imp rovement of Georgia9 agriculture; and10 WHEREAS, the Georgia Farm Bureau Federation now operates compan ies that provide11 services to its members in areas that include insurance, advocacy, and banking; and12 S. R. 117 - 1 - 25 LC 112 2728 WHEREAS, the Senate Agriculture and Consumer Affairs Committee has long recognized13 the Georgia Farm Bureau Federation under the dedicated leadership of its president, Mr. Tom14 McCall, as an exemplary voice of Georgia agriculture; and15 WHEREAS, it is abundantly fitting and proper that the Georgia Farm Bureau Federation and16 its members be appropriately recognized for their many years of dedicated service to Georgia17 agriculture.18 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE that the members of this body19 recognize February 11, 2025, as Georgia Farm Bureau Federation Day at the state capitol.20 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is authorized and directed21 to make an appropriate copy of this resolution available for distribution to the Georgia Farm22 Bureau Federation.23 S.
