25 LC 112 2867 House Resolution 156 By: Representatives New of the 40th, Momtahan of the 17th, Gullett of the 19th, Smith of the 18th, and Kelley of the 16th A RESOLUTION Congratulating and commending Anna Borsh; and for other purposes.1 WHEREAS, Anna Borsh received the 2024 Inclusion Award from Geor gia Tech's K-122 InVenture Prize State and National Finals at the Raytheon Techn ologies Invention3 Convention United States Nationals; and4 WHEREAS, Ms. Borsh is a diligent, hard-working student from Panter Elementary School;5 and 6 WHEREAS, with the help of Nellie Klodner, Ms. Borsh created the app "Grocery Eyes,"7 which helps visually impaired people navigate through the grocery store more easily; and8 WHEREAS, both Ms. Borsh and Ms. Klodner created the app in the hope that visually9 impaired people can gain more independence through using the ap p's navigation,10 microphone, and camera features to help locate items; and 11 WHEREAS, prior to winning the 2024 Inclusion Award at the Unite d States Nationals,12 "Grocery Eyes" won the same title from the state level competition where each student won13 an Amazon tablet; and14 H. R. 156 - 1 - 25 LC 112 2867 WHEREAS, as first prize winners at the United States Nationals, each student received a15 trophy, certificate, and $1,000.00 prize; and16 WHEREAS, this remarkable young student has personified the selfless dedication, mental17 agility, verbal adroitness, and personal maturity necessary for such an honorary award; and18 WHEREAS, it is abundantly fitting and proper that the outstanding accomplishments of this19 extraordinary student be appropriately recognized.20 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that21 the members of this body congratulate Anna Borsh upon receiving the 2024 Inclusion Award22 from Georgia Tech's K-12 InVenture Prize State and National Finals, commend her for her23 many outstanding contributions on behalf of the citizens of Georgia, and extend best wishes24 for continued growth, development, and success.25 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized26 and directed to make an appropriate copy of this resolution available for distribution to Anna27 Borsh.28 H.
