25 LC 129 0114 House Resolution 184 By: Representatives Adeyina of the 110 th, Okoye of the 102 nd, Beckles of the 96 th, and McClain of the 109th A RESOLUTION Congratulating the Grayson High School football team for winning the 2024 State Football1 Championship; and for other purposes.2 WHEREAS, the Grayson High School football team has established and maintained a proud3 tradition of excellence with equal emphases on character and academics; and4 WHEREAS, this superlative team has completed another triumphant season of football5 competition by posting an outstanding record; and 6 WHEREAS, excellent play, superior teamwork, and extraordinary resilience made this team7 a spectacular one to observe throughout the season, and as a fitting finale to its remarkable8 2024 campaign, the team captured its fourth state football championship; and 9 WHEREAS, the team brought special recognition to its school by winning the 2024 State10 Football Championship against Carrollton High School with a final score of 38-24; and11 WHEREAS, the phenomenal performance of the team is a clear indication of the outstanding12 athletic ability, dedication, hard work, and unity of purpose and spirit of each member of the13 team; its superb offensive and defensive talents; and the astut e direction of Head Coach14 H. R. 184 - 1 - 25 LC 129 0114 Santavious Bryant, who was ably assisted by Keith Barefield and his offensive staff as well15 as Greg Carswell and his defensive staff; and16 WHEREAS, as this magnificent team earned its well-deserved reputation for excellence by17 performing with courage and precision over months of training a nd competition, it is18 abundantly proper to call them champions.19 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that20 the members of this body congratulate the Grayson High School football team for winning21 the 2024 State Football Championship and extend best wishes for their continued success.22 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized23 and directed to make an appropriate copy of this resolution available for distribution to the24 Grayson High School football team.25 H.
