Neal on the occasion of his 17th pastoral1 anniversary; and for other purposes.2 WHEREAS, Reverend Corey J. Neal answered the call to ministry a t the age of 27 after a3 transformative series of hardships led him to relinquish his personal plans and embrace God's4 purpose, committing himself to preaching and serving in Columbus, Georgia; and5 WHEREAS, Reverend Corey J. Neal was called by the Lord 17 years ago to lead the6 congregation of Greater Peace Baptist Church; and7 WHEREAS, prior to becoming the church's senior pastor, he faithfully served as director of8 Christian education, youth pastor, and assistant pastor under t he leadership of his9 grandfather, Reverend E. L. Sullivan; and10 WHEREAS, during his distinguished tenure, Reverend Corey J. Nea l has established11 numerous programs and workshops, including those focused on hea lth, finances, and12 employment, that have improved the spiritual growth and well-being of the church and the13 surrounding community; and14 H. R. 187 - 1 - 25 LC 112 2891 WHEREAS, he further serves as the vice-president-at-large of th e General Missionary15 Baptist Convention of Georgia and is a certified instructor for the local, state, and national16 Congress of Christian Education; and17 WHEREAS, he is a proud member of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity Inc., the Kappa Alpha Psi18 Columbus Alumni Chapter, the Columbus Georgia Family Connection Coalition, and the 10019 Black Men of America; and20 WHEREAS, whether the task is preparing a sermon, visiting the s ick, counseling the21 troubled, baptizing a new believer, or acting as a theologian, educator, administrator, or22 humanitarian, Reverend Corey J. Neal has shown the energy, devo tion, and commitment23 truly reflective of divine guidance; and24 WHEREAS, it is abundantly fitting and proper to recognize the outstanding accomplishments25 of the dynamic Christian ministry of this devout and pious man.26 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that27 the members of this body recognize and commend Reverend Corey J. Neal on the wonderful28 occasion of his 17th pastoral anniversary and extend best wishe s for many more years of29 successful fellowship and leadership.30 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized31 and directed to make an appropriate copy of this resolution ava ilable for distribution to32 Reverend Corey J.
