25 LC 112 2895 House Resolution 205 By: Representatives Santos of the 117th, Holly of the 116th, Douglas of the 78th, Kahaian of the 81st, Crowe of the 118th, and others A RESOLUTION Recognizing and commending Mayor Carlos Greer on his outstandin g public service; and1 for other purposes.2 WHEREAS, Mayor Carlos Greer has long been recognized by the citizens of this state for3 the vital role that he has played in leadership and his deep pe rsonal commitment to the4 welfare of the citizens of Georgia; and5 WHEREAS, he has diligently and conscientiously devoted innumerable hours of his time,6 talents, and energy toward the betterment of his community and state, as evidenced7 dramatically by his superlative service as the first African American mayor of Locust Grove,8 Georgia; and9 WHEREAS, a lifelong resident of Locust Grove, Mayor Greer previously served the city for10 nine years as a councilman, including six years as Mayor Pro Te m, during which time he11 worked diligently to advance the city's progress and improve th e quality of life for its12 residents; and13 H. R. 205 - 1 - 25 LC 112 2895 WHEREAS, Mayor Greer's significant organizational and leadershi p talents, remarkable14 patience and diplomacy, keen sense of vision, and sensitivity to the needs of the citizens of15 this state have earned him the respect and admiration of his colleagues and associates; and16 WHEREAS, he is a person of magnanimous strengths with an unimpeachable reputation for17 integrity, intelligence, fairness, and kindness; and18 WHEREAS, Mayor Greer has served with honor and distinction, and his vision and19 unyielding commitment to the citizens of Locust Grove have set the standard for public20 service; and21 WHEREAS, it is abundantly fitting and proper that the outstanding accomplishments of this22 remarkable and distinguished Georgian be appropriately recognized.23 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that24 the members of this body recognize and commend Mayor Carlos Gre er for his efficient,25 effective, unselfish, and dedicated public service to Locust Grove, Georgia, as well as extend26 the most sincere best wishes for continued health and happiness.27 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized28 and directed to make an appropriate copy of this resolution ava ilable for distribution to29 Mayor Carlos Greer.30 H.
