25 LC 112 2907 Senate Resolution 143 By: Senators Parent of the 44th, Wicks of the 34th and Davenport of the 17th A RESOLUTION Commending the Clayton County Government, the Clayton County Chamber of Commerce,1 and the ATL Airport Chamber of Commerce and recognizing February 6, 2025, as Clayton2 County Day at the state capitol; and for other purposes.3 WHEREAS, Clayton County provides a supportive environment for business and industry,4 and it is abundantly fitting and proper that the outstanding le adership and diligence5 demonstrated by both the Clayton County Chamber of Commerce and the ATL Airport6 Chamber be appropriately recognized as both organizations influence growth and perpetuate7 the thriving of this superlative county; and8 WHEREAS, the Clayton County Chamber of Commerce, founded in 195 3, is a9 member-based nonprofit organization dedicated to promoting business growth and enhancing10 the quality of life through economic prosperity; and11 WHEREAS, the ATL Airport Chamber, founded over 72 years ago, is dedicated to the12 promotion, development, and growth of business and professional activities within the airport13 area; and14 S. R. 143 - 1 - 25 LC 112 2907 WHEREAS, the Clayton County Chamber of Commerce and the ATL Air port Chamber15 unite business and professional individuals by empowering local growth, improving business16 to business networking, and helping to strengthen our community; and17 WHEREAS, the Clayton County Chamber of Commerce and the ATL Air port Chamber18 continue to provide leadership and educational opportunities wi th their programs: Elevate19 ATL, a leadership training academy created to develop community leaders who inspire,20 promote, and champion the economic development of our region, and Leadership Clayton,21 a leadership development program established in 1972 that has engaged over 975 emerging22 and existing leaders in a ten-month program that broadens their knowledge of community23 issues, sharpens their leadership skills, and challenges them and others to seek solutions to24 those issues affecting our communities; and25 WHEREAS, chamber members are invited to participate each year i n the Clayton County26 Day at the state capitol to meet with our state leaders during the legislative session, discuss27 legislative priorities that are important to their business and the county, and see our state28 government in action.29 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE that the members of this body30 commend the Clayton County Government, the Clayton County Chamber of Commerce, and31 the ATL Airport Chamber on their distinguished leadership and recognize February 6, 2025,32 as Clayton County Day at the state capitol.33 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is authorized and directed34 to make appropriate copies of this resolution available for distribution to the Clayton County35 Government, the Clayton County Chamber of Commerce, and the ATL Airport Chamber.36 S.
