25 LC 129 0123 House Resolution 222 By: Representatives Clark of the 100th, Mathis of the 133rd, Reeves of the 99th, Hong of the 103rd, Donatucci of the 105th, and others A RESOLUTION Congratulating the North Gwinnett High School Game Day Cheer Squad upon winning the1 2024 State Championship; and for other purposes.2 WHEREAS, the North Gwinnett High School Game Day Cheer Squad has established and3 maintained a proud tradition of excellence with equal emphases on character and academics;4 and5 WHEREAS, this superlative team serves as leaders on the sidelin e on Friday night, in the6 classroom during the school day, and in the youth cheer programs in their community; and7 WHEREAS, excellent performance, superior teamwork, and extraordinary resilience made8 this team a spectacular one to observe throughout the season, a nd as a fitting finale to its9 remarkable 2024 campaign, the team captured its second state championship; and10 WHEREAS, the phenomenal performance of the team is a clear indication of the outstanding11 athletic ability, dedication, hard work, and unity of purpose and spirit of each member of the12 team as well as the astute direction of coaches Tabatha Johnson, Kelly Halcomb, and Emily13 Troughton; and14 H. R. 222 - 1 - 25 LC 129 0123 WHEREAS, this all-star team includes nine seniors, 14 juniors, two sophomores, and seven15 freshmen, all of whom have the heart of a champion and represent the Suwanee community16 with pride; and17 WHEREAS, as this magnificent team earned its well-deserved reputation for excellence by18 performing with courage and precision over months of training a nd competition, it is19 abundantly proper to call them champions.20 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that21 the members of this body congratulate the North Gwinnett High S chool Game Day Cheer22 Squad upon winning the 2024 State Championship and extend best wishes for their continued23 success.24 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized25 and directed to make an appropriate copy of this resolution available for distribution to the26 North Gwinnett High School Game Day Cheer Squad.27 H.
