25 LC 112 2870 House Resolution 223 By: Representatives Taylor of the 92nd, Burns of the 159th, Scott of the 76th, Davis of the 87th, Barnes of the 86th, and others A RESOLUTION Recognizing the week of February 10 to 14, 2025, as National FCCLA Week; and for other1 purposes.2 WHEREAS, Family, Career and Community Leaders of America (FCCLA ), the national3 nonprofit, family-focused, intracurricular student organization for Family and Consumer4 Sciences students through grade 12, helps youth assume their roles in society through Family5 and Consumer Sciences Education in the areas of personal growth , family life, college6 readiness, career exploration, leadership, and community involvement; and7 WHEREAS, the organization extends classroom learning through chapter service projects8 that develop leadership and employability skills and helps young men and women learn how9 to plan, make decisions, carry out program evaluations, and take action through working with10 other youth and adults within their school, community, and state; and11 WHEREAS, FCCLA offers members an opportunity to work together for everyday purposes12 for the improvement of themselves as well as their families, careers, and communities; and13 WHEREAS, the week of February 10 to 14, 2025, has been designat ed National FCCLA14 Week.15 H. R. 223 - 1 - 25 LC 112 2870 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that16 the members of this body hereby recognize the week of February 10 to 14, 2025, as National17 FCCLA Week and encourage all citizens to acquaint themselves wi th the activities and18 values of Family, Career and Community Leaders of America and t o show interest in and19 provide support and encouragement to the students who are working to achieve knowledge20 and experience that will help prepare them for future responsibilities as active and concerned21 adult members of society.22 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized23 and directed to make an appropriate copy of this resolution available for distribution to the24 Family, Career and Community Leaders of America.25 H.
