A RESOLUTION
Recognizing and commending the Juniors Running Club; and for other purposes.1
WHEREAS, the Juniors Running Club was established in 2013 with just 40 students from2
grades third through fifth; and3
WHEREAS, the club currently operates out of Baldwin Elementary School in Norcross,4
Georgia, and has grown to include approximately 100 elementary school runners, 30 middle5
school runners, and 15 high school runners; and6
WHEREAS, the club's teams have achieved significant competitive success, with its7
elementary school runners winning multiple cluster races against six elementary schools in8
the Norcross cluster and its middle school team earning numerous podium finishes since it9
began competing in cross country in 2014; and10
WHEREAS, the middle school runners finished the 2016 and 2019 seasons with remarkable11
perfect season records, ranking seventh in the State of Georgia; and12

WHEREAS, in 2017, the Juniors Running Club was awarded the Arthur Blank Scholarship,13
providing over 100 pairs of new Mizuno running shoes to its elementary and middle school14
athletes; and15
WHEREAS, the club has competed several times at the Junior Olym pics Nationals and16
Regionals, including in Birmingham, Alabama, in 2016; Tallahassee, Florida, in 2017 and17
2019; Charleston, South Carolina, in 2018; Madison, Wisconsin, in 2019; Lexington,18
Kentucky, in 2020 and 2021; and Louisville, Kentucky, in 2024 a t the Middle School19
Nationals; and20
WHEREAS, the mission of the Juniors Running Club is to promote movement and fitness21
through the sport of running, prepare runners for high school c ross country and track22
competition, and serve as ambassadors for the sport and their schools; and23
WHEREAS, these magnificent teams have earned their well-deserve d reputation for24
excellence, and it is abundantly fitting and proper that their extraordinary accomplishments25
be appropriately honored.26
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that27
the members of this body recognize and commend the Juniors Runn ing Club for its many28
exemplary victories as well as extend best wishes for continued success.29
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized30
and directed to make an appropriate copy of this resolution available for distribution to the31
Juniors Running Club.32
