25 LC 112 2959 House Resolution 249 By: Representatives Beckles of the 96th, Adeyina of the 110th, Okoye of the 102nd, McClain of the 109th, Romman of the 97th, and others A RESOLUTION Recognizing and commending Splash Festivals; and for other purposes.1 WHEREAS, founded by Frances Schube and Cindy Flynn, Splash Festivals specializes in2 producing vibrant and engaging art events that promote the citi es they represent, bringing3 together artisans, visitors, and local businesses in a mutual c elebration of creativity and4 community; and5 WHEREAS, since its incorporation in 2009, Splash Festivals has organized and produced6 such outstanding experiences as the Brookhaven Cherry Blossom Festival, the Acworth Art7 Fest, the Chamblee Art Fest, the Dunwoody Art Festival, the Alpharetta Arts Streetfest, the8 Norcross Art Splash Festival, and the Johns Creek Arts Festival; and9 WHEREAS, the Norcross Art Splash Festival, one of the largest annual events in the City10 of Norcross, first began in 2004 and has since grown into a major attraction, drawing large11 crowds from both within and outside the city while also support ing local businesses and12 fostering economic activity in downtown Norcross; and13 WHEREAS, the success of the Norcross Art Splash Festival is mad e possible through the14 dedication of more than 100 volunteers, many of whom are Norcro ss citizens, who15 H. R. 249 - 1 - 25 LC 112 2959 generously contribute their time and effort to assist artisans, set up and break down booths,16 and welcome visitors with warmth and hospitality; and17 WHEREAS, Splash Festivals works in close collaboration with the City of Norcross,18 including the police department and city staff, to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for19 festival attendees; and20 WHEREAS, through their unique approach to event planning, Splas h Festivals has21 established a strong reputation for producing high-quality festivals that engage communities,22 attract thousands of visitors, and celebrate the spirit of the arts; and23 WHEREAS, it is abundantly fitting and proper that this remarkab le company be24 appropriately honored.25 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that26 the members of this body recognize and commend Splash Festivals for its many outstanding27 contributions on behalf of the citizens of this state as well as extend best wishes for continued28 success.29 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized30 and directed to make an appropriate copy of this resolution ava ilable for distribution to31 Splash Festivals.32 H.
