25 LC 112 2887 House Resolution 247 By: Representatives Cox of the 28th, McDonald III of the 26th, Jasperse of the 11th, Barrett of the 24th, Clark of the 100th, and others A RESOLUTION Congratulating the East Forsyth High School eSports team for winning the 2024-2025 3A-4A1 Super Smash Bros. Ultimate State Championship; and for other purposes.2 WHEREAS, the East Forsyth High School eSports team has establis hed and maintained a3 proud tradition of excellence with equal emphases on character and academics; and4 WHEREAS, excellent play, superior teamwork, and extraordinary resilience made this team5 a spectacular one to observe throughout the season, and as a fitting finale to its remarkable6 2024 campaign, the team captured the school's first ever state championship; and7 WHEREAS, the team brought special recognition to its school by winning the 2024-20258 3A-4A Super Smash Bros. Ultimate State Championship against Nor thview High School9 with a final score of 3-2; and10 WHEREAS, this all-star team included players Ethan Wakefield, Victor Wissmann, Jackson11 Wickey, and Bobby Brown as well as head coach Justin Hodges; and12 WHEREAS, the phenomenal performance of the team is a clear indication of the outstanding 13 dedication, hard work, and unity of purpose and spirit of each member of the team; and14 H. R. 247 - 1 - 25 LC 112 2887 WHEREAS, as this magnificent team earned its well-deserved reputation for excellence by15 performing with courage and precision over months of training a nd competition, it is16 abundantly proper to call them champions.17 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that18 the members of this body congratulate the East Forsyth High Sch ool eSports team for19 winning the 2024-2025 3A-4A Super Smash Bros. Ultimate State Championship and extend20 best wishes for their continued success.21 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized22 and directed to make an appropriate copy of this resolution available for distribution to the23 East Forsyth High School eSports team.24 H.
