25 LC 129 0133 House Resolution 236 By: Representatives Gambill of the 15th and Scoggins of the 14th A RESOLUTION Recognizing and commending Linda Ford Kellogg on her outstanding service; and for other1 purposes.2 WHEREAS, Linda Ford Kellogg has diligently and conscientiously devoted innumerable3 hours of her time, talents, and energy toward the betterment of her community and state, as4 evidenced dramatically by her 35 years of superlative service a s chairperson of the MLK5 Holiday Weekend festivities in Bartow County, Georgia; and6 WHEREAS, her professional career spans a wide range of importan t roles, including7 positions at Cass High School, Cass #2 Elementary School, the D istrict Attorney's Office,8 the Governor's Office, the Adult Probation Office, and Hickory Log Vocational School, as9 well as nearly sixteen years in banking; and10 WHEREAS, throughout her distinguished tenure in education, she dedicated 22 years of11 service to Cartersville City Schools, during which time she ser ved as attendance director,12 secretary, and administrative assistant at Cartersville High School; and13 WHEREAS, following her retirement, she was asked to return to Cartersville High School14 as a consultant handling student services, where she continued to support students and faculty15 H. R. 236 - 1 - 25 LC 129 0133 for an additional ten years while serving on multiple school committees, including the School16 Council and Leadership Team; and17 WHEREAS, Linda Ford Kellogg has additionally served as an issui ng officer for youth18 employment certificates with the Georgia Department of Labor since 2006 and was the first19 African American mediator in Bartow County; and20 WHEREAS, she has further played a pivotal role in local electio ns since 1971 and made21 history as the first African American to serve as elections man ager for the Zena Drive22 Precinct in Bartow County; and23 WHEREAS, it is abundantly fitting and proper that the outstanding accomplishments of this24 remarkable and distinguished Georgian be appropriately honored.25 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that26 the members of this body recognize and commend Linda Ford Kello gg for her efficient,27 effective, unselfish, and dedicated service to her community; congratulate her upon the grand28 occasion of her retirement; and extend the most sincere best wishes for continued health and29 happiness.30 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized31 and directed to make an appropriate copy of this resolution available for distribution to Linda32 Ford Kellogg.33 H.
