25 LC 112 2915 Senate Resolution 171 By: Senators Jackson of the 41st, Mallow of the 2nd, Parent of the 44th, Jones II of the 22nd and Orrock of the 36th A RESOLUTION Recognizing February 11, 2025, as the Interfaith Children's Movement's 14th Annual Day1 at the state capitol; and for other purposes.2 WHEREAS, the Interfaith Children's Movement (ICM) has been a st eadfast advocate for3 Georgia's children since its founding in 2001, uniting people of all faiths to create a better4 future by mobilizing communities across the state to champion policies that promote child5 well-being, justice, and equity; and6 WHEREAS, through its advocacy efforts, ICM has played a pivotal role in securing vital7 protections for Georgia's children, from expanding access to he althcare to strengthening8 juvenile justice reforms; and9 WHEREAS, by fostering collaboration among faith leaders, policy makers, and grassroots10 organizers, ICM has built a movement that speaks with a unified voice on behalf of the most11 vulnerable; and12 WHEREAS, the organization's dedication extends beyond policy work as it prepares the next13 generation of advocates through youth engagement programs such as the Youth Alliance and14 S. R. 171 - 1 - 25 LC 112 2915 the Youth Advocacy Internship, empowering young people to use t heir voices to shape a15 more just and compassionate society; and16 WHEREAS, on this 14th Annual Day at the state capitol, ICM's ti reless commitment to17 ensuring that all children in Georgia have the opportunity to thrive represents a call to action18 for leaders, advocates, and communities across the state to continue working toward a future19 where every child is nurtured, protected, and given the opportunity to succeed.20 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE that the members of this body21 recognize February 11, 2025, as the Interfaith Children's Movement's 14th Annual Day at the22 state capitol in honor of the organization's unwavering efforts on behalf of the children of this23 state as well as extend best wishes for continued success.24 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is authorized and directed25 to make an appropriate copy of this resolution available for di stribution to the Interfaith26 Children's Movement.27 S.
