A RESOLUTION
Recognizing and commending Colonel (Ret.) Christopher Jenkins o n the occasion of his1
military retirement; and for other purposes.2
WHEREAS, our nation's security continues to rely on patriotic m en and women who put3
their personal lives on hold in order to place themselves in ha rm's way to protect the4
freedoms that all United States citizens cherish; and5
WHEREAS, Colonel (Ret.) Christopher Jenkins valiantly and coura geously served as a6
guardian of this nation's freedom and liberty with the United States Army for 40 years and7
retired from service on July 1, 2024; and8
WHEREAS, during his distinguished career, Colonel (Ret.) Jenkin s demonstrated an9
unwavering commitment to defending his fellow Americans through out six overseas10
deployments and two domestic mobilizations; and11
WHEREAS, Colonel (Ret.) Jenkins held leadership roles such as Platoon Leader, Company12
Commander, Liaison Officer, Forward Strategic Transportation Officer, Human Resources13
Officer, Logistics Officer, and Battalion Commander, serving in critical capacities that14
supported United States military operations around the world; and15

WHEREAS, Colonel (Ret.) Jenkins is a highly decorated veteran a nd the recipient of16
numerous awards and commendations, including the Bronze Star Me dal with Oak Leaf17
Cluster, the Meritorious Service Medal with Two Oak Leaf Cluste rs, the Army18
Commendation Medal with Oak Leaf Clusters, the Army Achievement Medal with Three19
Oak Leaf Clusters, and many more; and20
WHEREAS, only those with great strength, discipline, and a firm resolve achieve positions21
of such status, and Colonel (Ret.) Jenkins brought great credit to himself, his family, this22
state, and this nation through his outstanding performance and dedication; and23
WHEREAS, his selfless and heroic actions stand as a shining tribute to the strength of human24
spirit and willpower, and it is abundantly fitting and proper t hat the outstanding25
accomplishments of this remarkable and distinguished American b e appropriately26
recognized.27
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that28
the members of this body recognize and commend Colonel (Ret.) Christopher Jenkins for his29
effective, unselfish, and dedicated public service to the State of Georgia and this nation;30
congratulate him on the grand occasion of his retirement; and extend the most sincere best31
wishes for continued health and happiness.32
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized33
and directed to make an appropriate copy of this resolution ava ilable for distribution to34
Colonel (Ret.) Christopher Jenkins.35
