25 LC 112 2916 Senate Resolution 173 By: Senator Harbison of the 15th A RESOLUTION Recognizing and commending The Plummer Home; and for other purposes.1 WHEREAS, The Plummer Home is a faith-based 501(c)(3) nonprofit Christian organization2 dedicated to providing residential living and assistance to vet erans who have experienced3 joblessness, homelessness, addictions, court sentencing, incarceration, and other life-altering4 challenges; and5 WHEREAS, this outstanding organization is committed to equipping veterans with the skills6 and resources necessary to make healthy choices and maintain a self-sufficient lifestyle upon7 completing the program; and8 WHEREAS, referrals for prospective residents come from families , shelters, law9 enforcement agencies, community organizations, and the court system, ensuring that those10 in need have access to comprehensive support; and11 W H E R E A S , T h e P l u m m e r H o m e f u r t h e r s e r v e s a s a r i t e o f p a s s a g e for male veterans12 transitioning from the Muscogee County Jail, requiring all residents to fully commit to the13 program as they work toward personal and professional stability; and14 S. R. 173 - 1 - 25 LC 112 2916 WHEREAS, with the belief that character determines success, The Plummer Home15 emphasizes self-control, honesty, integrity, dependability, and determination as well as a16 commitment to excellence in all endeavors; and17 WHEREAS, it is abundantly fitting and proper that this remarkab le organization be18 appropriately honored.19 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE that the members of this body20 recognize and commend The Plummer Home for its exemplary servic e on behalf of the21 citizens of this state as well as extend best wishes for continued success.22 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is authorized and directed23 to make an appropriate copy of this resolution available for di stribution to The Plummer24 Home.25 S.
