25 LC 112 2927 House Resolution 244 By: Representatives Wade of the 9th, Tarvin of the 2nd, Thomas of the 21st, Crawford of the 89th, Chastain of the 7th, and others A RESOLUTION Recognizing February 3-9, 2025, as Future Business Leaders of America Week at the state1 capitol; and for other purposes.2 WHEREAS, Future Business Leaders of America Inc. (FBLA) is a non-profit educational3 organization whose first chapter was established in Johnson City, Tennessee, in 1942; and4 WHEREAS, Iowa became FBLA's first state chapter in 1947; and5 WHEREAS, Dawson County High School officially chartered its FBL A local chapter on6 November 20, 1967; and7 WHEREAS, FBLA includes more than 250,000 members and advisers i n 4,600 chapters8 nationwide in middle schools, high schools, colleges, universit ies, career and technical9 schools, and private business schools; and10 WHEREAS, FBLA is a professional business organization dedicated to bringing business11 and education together in a positive working relationship through innovative leadership and12 career development programs; and13 H. R. 244 - 1 - 25 LC 112 2927 WHEREAS, FBLA members perform community service activities and strive to build a14 student's understanding of the realities of the modern business world; and15 WHEREAS, FBLA teaches middle school, high school, and college students basic business16 and leadership principles as well as assists them in the transition from school to work.17 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that18 the members of this body recognize February 3-9, 2025, as Futur e Business Leaders of19 America Week at the state capitol.20 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized21 and directed to make appropriate copies of this resolution avai lable for distribution to the22 public and the press.23 H.
