25 LC 129 0128 House Resolution 235 By: Representatives Gambill of the 15th and Scoggins of the 14th A RESOLUTION Recognizing and commending Hickory Log upon the occasion of its 55th anniversary; and1 for other purposes.2 WHEREAS, established in White, Georgia, in 1970, Hickory Log is a private non-profit3 personal care living facility for men with special needs, inclu ding intellectual disabilities,4 developmental disabilities, and traumatic brain injuries; and5 WHEREAS, founded by Al and Sara Munn for their son, Rey, and the men in surrounding6 counties, this outstanding organization provides a safe space f or residents to hone their7 relational, vocational, and financial skills in a manner that champions independence within8 the personal care home model; and9 WHEREAS, recognizing that families wish to keep their loved ones close, Hickory Log not10 only offers comprehensive care to its residents but also extends support and community to11 their families; and12 WHEREAS, Hickory Log is bene volently committed to loving all pe ople with a heart of13 compassion, service, and grace; and14 H. R. 235 - 1 - 25 LC 129 0128 WHEREAS, it is abundantly fitting and proper that this exemplar y care home be15 appropriately honored during this special time.16 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that17 the members of this body recognize and commend Hickory Log upon the grand occasion of18 its 55th anniversary for its decades of service on behalf of th ose in need as well as extend19 best wishes for continued success.20 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized21 and directed to make an appropriate copy of this resolution ava ilable for distribution to22 Hickory Log.23 H.
