25 LC 112 2938 Senate Resolution 177 By: Senators Still of the 48th, Dixon of the 45th, Rahman of th e 5th, Merritt of the 9th, Mangham of the 55th and others A RESOLUTION Commending Anne-Marie Trent, Sycamore Elementary School's 2024-2025 Teacher of the1 Year; and for other purposes.2 WHEREAS, Anne-Marie Trent has been teaching first grade, covering all subjects, to Sugar3 Hill students at Sycamore Elementary School in Gwinnett County for four years and has 254 years of teaching experience; and5 WHEREAS, she is a highly respected first grade teacher within the school community and6 among her peers and has been recognized as Sycamore Elementary School's Teacher of the7 Year for 2024-2025; and8 WHEREAS, she has spent endless hours both inside and outside th e classroom teaching9 students and empowering them to think freely, helping them deve lop skills such as10 questioning, provoking, and challenging all the things presented to them; and11 WHEREAS, she has engaged her students by producing innovative lessons that have real-life12 applications and has thus promoted learning to her students as a lifelong endeavor; and13 S. R. 177 - 1 - 25 LC 112 2938 WHEREAS, the purpose of the Teacher of the Year award is to honor educators who have14 made an exceptional difference in the lives of their students and provided inspiration to their15 peers, recognizing and promoting excellence in education within Gwinnett County Public16 Schools and helping to promote an educated and vibrant community; and17 WHEREAS, in recognition of such remarkable contributions to the education and welfare18 of Georgia's students, it is abundantly fitting and proper for this body to honor the19 extraordinary accomplishments and academic achievements of this outstanding educator.20 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE that the members of this body21 commend Anne-Marie Trent, Sycamore Elementary School's 2024-2025 Teacher of the Year,22 and express their most sincere best wishes for continued success.23 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is authorized and directed24 to make an appropriate copy of this resolution available for distribution to Anne-Marie Trent.25 S.
