A RESOLUTION
Designating the City of Incheon, South Korea as the sister city-state of the State of Georgia.1
WHEREAS, as of February 2020, Incheon was home to approximately 3 million residents,2
making it the third most populous city in South Korea, following Seoul and Busan; and3
WHEREAS, Incheon is a major port city, serving as a crucial hub for international trade and4
maritime commerce as well as the home to Incheon International Airport, one of the busiest5
and most advanced airports in the world; and6
WHEREAS, Incheon has been designated as an "English City" and h as implemented the7
"Incheon Free English Zone" initiative, emphasizing global communication and education;8
and9
WHEREAS, Incheon has established sister city-state relationships with 39 cities around the10
world; and11
WHEREAS, this chamber recognizes the historical, cultural, and economic importance of12
Incheon and commends its contributions to global engagement, co mmerce, and cultural13
exchange.14

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that15
the members of this body designate Incheon, South Korea as the sister city-state of the State16
of Georgia.17
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized18
and directed to make appropriate copies of this resolution avai lable for distribution to the19
public and the press.20
