25 LC 47 3167/AP House Bill 468 (AS PASSED HOUSE AND SENATE) By: Representative Huddleston of the 72nd A BILL TO BE ENTITLED AN ACT To amend an Act providing for the Heard County Board of Educati on, approved1 March 28, 1985 (Ga. L. 1985, p. 5078), as amended, particularly by an Act approved May 3,2 2018 (Ga. L. 2018, p. 3613), so as to revise the compensation of the members of the Heard3 County Board of Education; to provide for related matters; to provide an effective date; to4 repeal conflicting laws; and for other purposes.5 BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF GEORGIA:6 SECTION 1.7 An Act providing for the Heard County Board of Education, appro ved March 28, 19858 (Ga. L. 1985, p. 5078), as amended, particularly by an Act appr oved May 3, 2018 (Ga. L.9 2018, p. 3613), is amended by revising Section 6 as follows:10 "SECTION 6.11 Each member of the board shall receive $450.00 per month as compensation for his or her12 services. While meeting or traveling outside Heard County as a member of the board, the13 chairperson or any member of the board shall receive reimbursement for actual expenses14 necessarily incurred in connection therewith. To be eligible for reimbursement, travel must15 H. B. 468 - 1 - 25 LC 47 3167/AP first be authorized by a majority vote of the board and may be for, but is not limited to,16 attending training sessions or state-wide meetings. All expens es shall be verified and17 approved prior to reimbursement in such manner as may be specif ied by the board. 18 Compensation and reimbursement of board members shall be payabl e from the funds of19 the board."20 SECTION 2.21 This Act shall become effective on July 1, 2025.22 SECTION 3.23 All laws and parts of laws in conflict with this Act are repealed.24 H.
