25 LC 112 3029 Senate Resolution 204 By: Senators Davenport of the 17th, Harbison of the 15th, Jones of the 10th, Jackson of the 41st, Anderson of the 43rd and others A RESOLUTION Honoring the Georgia Vision Alliance for its exemplary contribu tions to the blind and1 visually impaired community in Georgia; and for other purposes.2 WHEREAS, the Georgia Vision Alliance has been a steadfast advoc ate for the blind and3 visually impaired community, working tirelessly to advance acce ssibility, equality, and4 opportunities across the state of Georgia; and5 WHEREAS, this distinguished organization has demonstrated unwavering commitment to6 creating an inclusive society where individuals with visual imp airments can lead7 independent, fulfilling, and dignified lives; and8 WHEREAS, the Georgia Vision Alliance has provided invaluable resources, education, and9 advocacy for policies that promote accessibility, foster indepe ndence, and empower those10 affected by visual impairments; and11 WHEREAS, under the exceptional leadership of its chairman, Alic e Ritchheart, and12 co-chairmen, Stephanie Scott and McArthur Jarrett, the Georgia Vision Alliance has13 championed the establishment of a Commission for the Blind in Georgia, a transformative14 S. R. 204 - 1 - 25 LC 112 3029 initiative that has garnered widespread support and recognition for its potential to improve15 lives; and16 WHEREAS, the Alliance's efforts have inspired communities, legislators, and organizations17 to prioritize the needs of the blind and visually impaired, fostering collaboration and progress18 in addressing critical accessibility issues; and19 WHEREAS, the dedication of the Georgia Vision Alliance exemplif ies the spirit of20 compassion, resilience, and service that defines the best of Georgia's citizenry.21 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE that the members of this body22 honor and commend the Georgia Vision Alliance for its outstanding service, advocacy, and23 leadership in the blind and visually impaired community as well as extend best wishes for24 continued success.25 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is authorized and directed26 to make an appropriate copy of this resolution available for distribution to the Georgia Vision27 Alliance.28 S.
