25 LC 112 3028 House Resolution 322 By: Representatives Efstration of the 104th, Hatchett of the 155th, Cooper of the 45th, Chastain of the 7th, Jackson of the 165th, and others A RESOLUTION Commending the Boy Scouts of America in Georgia and recognizing February 26, 2025, as1 Scouts Day at the Capitol; and for other purposes.2 WHEREAS, the Boy Scouts of America is an organization dedicated to training youth in3 responsible citizenship, character development, and self-reliance through participation in a4 wide range of outdoor activities, educational programs, and service projects; and5 WHEREAS, the Boy Scouts of America in Georgia are the most acti ve group in the state6 with over 40,000 scouts and more than 3,500 adult leaders in more than 600 units; and7 WHEREAS, the Boy Scouts of America in Georgia have contributed to the state's8 communities through their service projects and their commitment to the ideals of Scouting;9 and10 WHEREAS, the annual Scouts Day at the Capitol provides an opportunity for Scouts to learn11 about their government and to engage in dialogue with their representatives in the Georgia12 House of Representatives.13 H. R. 322 - 1 - 25 LC 112 3028 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that14 the members of this body commend the Boy Scouts of America in G eorgia for their15 commitment to the values and principles of Scouting and for their service to the state.16 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the members of this body recognize February 26, 2025,17 as Scouts Day at the Capitol and encourage all elected officials to take part in the events to18 show appreciation for the Boy Scouts of America in Georgia.19 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized20 and directed to make appropriate copies of this resolution avai lable for distribution to the21 public and the press.22 H.
