A RESOLUTION
Recognizing February 10, 2025, as Effingham County Day at the c apitol and saluting the1
Effingham County Chamber of Commerce; and for other purposes.2
WHEREAS, Effingham County borders on the Savannah River; includes three incorporated3
municipalities: Rincon, Springfield, and Guyton; has several smaller communities, including4
Meldrim, Faulkville, Pineora, Stillwell, Egypt, Clyo, Ebenezer, and Shawnee; and is widely5
recognized for its outstanding quality of life; and6
WHEREAS, with a shared vision for growth and prosperity, Effingham County has greatly7
increased collaboration among its municipalities, the County Co mmission, and key8
community stakeholders in order to position itself as the future of the Coastal Empire; and9
WHEREAS, Effingham County has further partnered with local schools, Savannah Technical10
College, and other educational institutions to enhance workforce development and provide11
students with opportunities to engage with growing industries; and12
WHEREAS, entities such as the Effingham County Health System ensure that access to high13
quality health care remains a cornerstone of the community, and the county's investments in14
vital infrastructure serve to bolster its growth and resilience; and15

WHEREAS, founded in 1986 to support existing businesses and att ract new industry, the16
Effingham County Chamber of Commerce has long worked to ensure the county's economic17
strength and well-being through its mission of operating as a m ember-driven organization18
"focused on business advocacy and sustainable economic growth" in the region; and19
WHEREAS, for a number of years, the Effingham County Chamber of Commerce, in20
collaboration the Effingham County Industrial Development Autho rity, has sponsored21
Effingham Day at the Georgia State Capitol, providing a platform for engagement with state22
leaders and legislators; and23
WHEREAS, through their tireless efforts and steadfast commitmen t, Speaker Jon Burns,24
Senator Billy Hickman, and Representative Bill Hitchens have pl ayed a vital role in25
advancing Effingham County's legislative priorities, ensuring i ts continued economic and26
infrastructural development; and27
WHEREAS, Effingham County Day will once again be observed on Fe bruary 10, 2025,28
continuing its tradition of strengthening ties between county l eadership and the State of29
Georgia under the leadership of its CEO, Susan Kraut, and Chair, Kim Iler.30
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that31
the members of this body recognize February 10, 2025, as Effing ham County Day at the32
capitol and extend to the Effingham County Chamber of Commerce their commendation for33
the chamber's many important contributions to the Effingham Cou nty community and the34
State of Georgia.35
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized36

and directed to make an appropriate copy of this resolution available for distribution to Susan37
Kraut, CEO of the Effingham County Chamber of Commerce.38
