25 LC 112 3056 Senate Resolution 208 By: Senators Esteves of the 35th, Kirkpatrick of the 32nd, Jame s of the 28th, Rhett of the 33rd, Albers of the 56th and others A RESOLUTION Congratulating and commending Melony Tidmore, Miss Cobb County's Teen 2025; and for1 other purposes.2 WHEREAS, a high school sophomore at Liberty University Online A cademy, Melony3 Tidmore was crowned last year as Miss Cobb County's Teen 2025 a nd was additionally4 honored as the competition's Talent Winner for her ballet en po inte performance of the5 "Esmerelda Variation"; and6 WHEREAS, she will go on to participate in the Miss Georgia's Te en competition in June7 2025, the winner of which will represent the State of Georgia a nd compete for the title of8 Miss America's Teen; and9 WHEREAS, she has distinguished herself as an exemplary role model, speaker, advocate,10 and volunteer, particularly through her community service initiative "Dance: A Movement11 Towards Better Health," which promotes the mental and physical health benefits of dance12 for all ages with a special emphasis on senior citizens; and13 WHEREAS, she has expanded the reach of her initiative through her social media campaign14 "Melody's Movement Monday" as well as through collaborations with the Wellstar Health15 S. R. 208 - 1 - 25 LC 112 3056 System, the Salvation Army's Silver Sneakers program, and the A tlanta Ballet Children's16 Outreach Program; and17 WHEREAS, a dedicated and accomplished dancer, she has completed over 13 years of dance18 training, including classical ballet, and she is currently a pr e-professional ballerina at the19 Tolbert Yilmaz School of Dance; and20 WHEREAS, through her service as a member of the 2025 Cobb County Youth Commission,21 Melony works closely with local government, develops leadership skills, and participates in22 service projects throughout Cobb County; and23 WHEREAS, she has demonstrated outstanding academic achievement by maintaining a 4.1224 GPA, serving as president of the National Beta Club, being selected for the Duke University25 Summer Program, and earning recognition as one of 52 National B eta Club All-Star26 Community Service winners; and27 WHEREAS, it is abundantly fitting and proper that the outstanding accomplishments of this28 remarkable and distinguished young Georgian be appropriately recognized.29 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE that the members of this body30 congratulate Melony Tidmore upon her win as Miss Cobb County's Teen 2025, commend31 her for her outstanding work on behalf of her community, and extend best wishes for future32 success in competition.33 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is authorized and directed34 to make an appropriate copy of this resolution available for distribution to Melony Tidmore.35 S.
